Count It A Joyful Thing

"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance; and let endurance have its perfect work that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing." James 1:2-4 KJV

You're kidding me, right!? No, that's what the text says, “Consider it all joy" when trials come. When God passed out patience, He skipped me. Knowing that I have a difficult time waiting, He constantly places me in positions where I have to exercise the very thing I lack most --patience. James explains the positive value of the testings of our faith as being two-fold. First, enduring them victoriously produces patience. Second, endurance helps mature and complete us. Most Christians desire the character qualities of patience and maturity, but often question the circumstances God brings into our lives that are necessary to produce them. We all are a work in progress. Remember He is the Potter; we are the clay.
