Faithful In A few Things Rewarded

"His master said to him, well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things, enter into the joy of your master." Matt. 25:21

In the parable of the talents, this servant had faithfully and wisely invested what was given him and had thereby doubled the principal. The unfaithful servant kept the talent given him, not even depositing it in a bank in order to receive at least minimal interest. His argument failed to justify his laziness. All of us should aspire to be "good and faithful servants" and so invest our lives in serving Him so as to receive His "well done," and be given greater responsibilities. There comes to both the master and the servant a special shared joy when the servant is obedient, and his actions bear fruit.
