"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith." Heb. 12:3

True faith must have an object or it is just whistling in the dark. That object of faith must be human or Divine and able to respond. The object cannot lack intelligence or personality, such as the sun, moon, stars, trees, or rocks. Jesus, the creator of all things (John 1:3), is the object of our faith because He is all powerful. "All power is given unto Me (Jesus) in heaven and on earth" (Matt. 28:1). He is the author (originator) of our faith, enabling us to believe on Him as Savior and Lord, the One who carries (finishes) it through to completion. If you're going to have a fixation, let it be looking unto Jesus.
