Giving One's All

"Because of the work of Christ he came close to death, not regarding his life, to supply what was lacking in your service toward me." Philippians 2:30

It has been said that the happiest people in the world are "those who lose themselves in service to others." Looking upon the needs and interest of others as more important than our own is Christ-like. The church at Philippi tried very hard to adequately meet Paul's needs, but fell short. Epaphroditus, Paul's companion in labor, made up for the short fall by laboring to the point of death in his efforts to help Paul. Sometimes the needs of others are so great and demanding that the caregiver suffers serious health issues. To allay the fears of the believers at Philippi regarding Epaphroditus's health, Paul sends this letter to them by him. Love knows no boundary in its caring.
