"For we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and to them who are called according to his purpose" Romans 8:28 KJV

Neither in this verse or all of scripture does the Bible teach that all things are good. Many things in our lives are in category "bad." We like Paul, from experience and hindsight, learn that God causes all the accumulative circumstances of our lives (good or bad) to work out for our ultimate good and His glory. Our confidence this is true is dependent upon the fervency of our love for the Lord. Loss of love for Him will diminish our confidence that He is in control of what's happening in our lives. Both God's calling and our subsequent coming to Him are in accordance with His eternal purpose. Those who see God's hand in everything can best leave everything in His hands.
