God Knows Before We Ask

"Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him." Matthew 6:8

Frederick Dale Bruner says “The paradox of prayer is that only when it is relieved of the necessity of much will people experience the freedom for much. When disciples know they don’t have to pray much, they will, surprisingly, desire to pray more.” I love that. God frees us to approach Him freely, without a quota to fill. Matthew 6:8, "Do not be like them", strong words, "for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him". Some will only engage in mere mechanics, but Jesus says to make it personal. God knows. He is intimately acquainted with all His children (those who have been saved by grace through Faith in Jesus Christ) and the process is under His care and watchful eye.
