God Needs No Counselor

"In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory." Eph. 1:11,12; NKJ

Unlike some family inheritances ours is spoken of in the present tense. Jesus' last will and testament went into force when He died. Because He arose from the dead, He uniquely becomes the executor of His own will. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the heir of all things, and we as joint heirs with Him also inherit what's coming to Him, which is everything in God's vast universe. What God purposes and plans for us His children, He has the power to bring it to pass. He needs no counsel or assistance from man in fulfilling what He has promised. As a committee of one, He pulls it all together. His ultimate purpose for believers in Christ is that we should be (live) to the praise of His glory."
