God's Corrective Discipline
"Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I have obeyed your word." Psalm 119:67 KJV
Yes! Sickness can be a result of rebellion and sinning against God. If a particular sin immediately comes to mind when you are suffering, it could be the disciplining hand of the Lord. He wants us to understand that sin is a serious matter. He knows how to change disobedient behavior. Our heavenly Father loves us too much to let us go unrestrained and undisciplined. However, if no sin or sins come to mind, the suffering is a test of our faith and trust in Him. Resolve to pass the test! Joy in the Christian life is the fruit of obedience. All sheep are prone to go astray; therefore, stay close to the Shepherd, read, and then obey His Word.
