"Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me." John 12:26

We are, as 1 Timothy 4:6 says, to desire to be "good servants of Christ Jesus". Believers serve because Jesus served. We are hard wired to selfishness, but Jesus is reversing the curse. In Christ, former self-addicts become slaves of Christ. It's the best possible turnaround. It's what God ordains as He redeems and saves. Our lives become living, God-honoring testimonies to the gospel of the grace of God in Christ. God honors that.
