"Paul and Timothy, bond servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, including the overseers and deacons." Phil. 1:2a

Paul here, and in the opening of the book of Romans, introduces himself to his readers as a bond slave of Jesus Christ. He includes Timothy in that title as well. “Saints” is a N.T. word that describes all who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The believers at Philippi were dear to Paul and Timothy's heart because the two of them had founded this first church in Europe. How would you characterize your relationship with Jesus Christ? My Savior, my Lord, my dearest and closest Friend, my coming King, or all the above? Are you also His bond servant which denotes a willing slave who is committed to his master for a lifetime? Have you made that commitment?
