In Time of Trouble

"God is our refuge and strength, a present help in the time of trouble, therefore we will not fear." Psalm 46:1,2a

God being our place of protection and safety, our strength when we are weak, and our constant help, we never have cause for fear, only a reason to trust Him. In this chapter the psalmist mentions three devastating disasters that could threaten our safety, if not our lives: an earthquake, a volcanic eruption, and a tsunami. Should we experience one or all these threats, as believers we are still non-the-less secure in the love of God from which we can never be separated. The Bible says,"Perfect love casts out fear," (which can only be God's love). Whatever challenge you are facing today or in the New Year, say earnestly from the heart with the psalmist, "My help cometh from the Lord Who made heaven and earth," and your heart will be at peace, free of fear.
