"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path." Prov. 3:5, 6

"Trust in the Lord" is first a choice of the heart. Then the mind follows and makes the decision. Don't park your brains; but no matter how keen one's intellect, leaning on your own understanding will not faultlessly serve you. Let leaning on the Lord be your first option. The next course of action is to acknowledge God's veto power over your plans and believe He will give the direction that you both need and seek. God's Word here is emphatic; when we seek Him with ALL our heart, He has promised to lead us on the right path. Half-hearted trust will fail you; it must be with all your heart. "Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Eph.5:17 KJV). Leaning on Jesus is not a crutch, but an absolute necessity.
