"The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here." Matthew 12:41.

The men of Nineveh were going one way, against God. God intervened and sent John to warn them of impending doom. They turned to God from idols. God relented and gave them forgiveness. Jesus is greater than all. All the more reason to repent of our sins as soon as we are aware of them.
