"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth." John 16:13

The Holy Spirit's role was clearly defined before He came. His role in the world at large was to "Convict man of sin, righteousness, and judgment to come"(John. 16:8). As both God's revealer and recorder of truth, His specific role to believers is to "guide us into all truth." In unfamiliar rugged and territory, it is always wise to have a guide or else one needlessly risks getting lost. We are walking in threatening, uncharted territory; however, the indwelling Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth will also guide us by that same truth. The Bible is God's inerrant truth and thus a reliable guide through the wilderness of life. Look to the author of "The Book." He knows the meanings in the book.
