"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." John 3:19-20 NKJ

Ever since our first parents rebelled and sinned against God in the Garden of Eden and tried to hide from God, man has tried to cover himself and his sinful behavior in darkness. There is no place on earth nor in the expansive universe where one can successfully hide from God. Deeds done in the darkness are as visible to God as in the brightness of the noon-day sun. Jesus said to them again, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life" (John 8:12) Burglars hate the light lest they be exposed and caught. What we would do in the dark where only God sees us reveals who we really are.
