Motivation For Serving The Lord
"Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart. For consider how great things He has done for you." 1 Sam. 12:24
Samuel, Israel’s only prophet, priest, and judge, had served God faithfully through many of Israel's darkest years and now nearing death exhorts the people to fear God and serve Him whole-heartedly. The guideline for that service would be the truth of God that had been given them through Moses and the prophets. Samuel pleads with them to reflect back and remember the great things God had done for them. Let us deliberate this day how much God has done for us. Recalling and recounting God's past blessings upon our lives is an exercise that produces gratitude that will motivate us to serve Him with all our heart. He deserves no less!
