"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." Eph. 2:8-9

As believers, we are God's work from beginning to end. By nature we are depraved beings; therefore, everything having to do with our salvation has to initiate with God. The very faith that enables us to believe on Christ comes from Him as a gift. It is not generated by our works, however good they may be. Salvation is all about God's grace and mercy, with no room for boasting. However, even before He saves us, He has plans in the works for us to accomplish. To discover and complete God's works' planned for us is life's greatest joy. True saving faith always produces good works. "Work for the night cometh when no man can work" (John 9:4 KJV).
