"For we have not a High Priest Who cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities: but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Hebrews 4:15 KJV

At the time this verse was written many high priests lacked compassion and empathy, the very qualities that should have characterized the office. Our great intercessor Jesus Christ is no ivory tower High Priest. He, being God, could not sin, but also being man He could experience the emotional struggle and tension temptation brings. Jesus alone is totally "touched" (to be similarly affected) with the feelings of our burdens and cares. Because He is God, He has all knowledge and understands exactly how you feel. Because love is primary to His nature, He cares with a capacity that even dearest love-ones and friends do not possess. In times of deep hurting, turn your eyes upon Jesus and you will be looking to the right Person.
