"We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and completed." Ezra 5:11

Some of the local Persian officials were questioning Ezra's permission to rebuild Solomon's destroyed temple. So much as saying, "Who do you think you are, and what do you think you are doing?" The local administration complained to Cyrus, the king, but he quickly affirmed the right of restored Israel to continue rebuilding the temple. Ezra's response to the obstructionist is a great encouragement to all who serve the Lord. "We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple." We serve the same God, who can turn the heart of kings to do his bidding and enable us to do what we ought to do.
