Short Term Memory Loss

"So it shall be when the Lord your God brings you into the land which He swore to your fathers to give you: large and beautiful cities which you did not build, houses full of good things which you did not fill, wells you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees you did not plant. When you have eaten and are full, beware, lest you forget the Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.” Duet. 6:11-12 NKJ

Forgetting Him from Whom all blessings flow seems to be an epidemic even among Christians. The land that God gave the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob not only flowed with milk and honey, but also cities, houses, water, fruit, and all the necessities of life for which they did no labor. The word "remember" is used over 200 hundred times in the Old Testament and mostly by God or one of His prophets exhorting the people to not forget the blessings of God, the greatest being deliverance from "the house of bondage." Forgetfulness of His blessings seems endemic to our human nature. Beware, lest you forget the Lord's blessings.
