Sovereign Strength
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the most gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
In catastrophic events such as tornadoes and earthquakes, it’s easy to see we lack the power to rescue ourselves. Powerlessness is an unsettling proposition. One we want to get out of. No one wants to be without power. We find that we are often more powerless than we think. But admitting it is the way to survive and thrive in Christ. We might experience weakness relationally, economically, or socially; but no matter the realm it is a weak position to be in. In the spiritual realm probably more than any other we feel our lack of power keenly. We need Almighty God and His sovereign strength. We need Jesus.
