The Trilogy Of Praise

"Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all you nations. Serve the LORD with gladness. Come before His presence with singing." Psalm 100:1, 2

Often in the Bible the words joy, praise, singing, and gladness are coupled with serving the Lord. Years ago my singing voice (such as it was) went south never to return, but the melody in my heart remains; and I can still make a joyful noise unto the Lord. The Psalmist exhorts us to serve the Lord with gladness. Should it be otherwise? Reluctant, grumbling service is displeasing and unacceptable to God. The Bible teaches that He is "Enthroned upon the praises of His people"(Psalm 22:3). Nothing can be more pleasing to God than when His redeemed children come before His presence with singing and through their songs of praise, place Him in His proper place. Let's resolve that we will serve the Lord with gladness.
