Vigilance

"Looking diligently, lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby defile many." Hebrews 12:15

The grace of God has appeared to all of mankind, offering salvation to sinners and unlimited grace to those who believe on Jesus. The triune Godhead alone is the repository of God's grace. We should urge both the sinner and the saint to appropriate fully the grace of God. The apostle Paul felt that he was not worthy of the grace of God bestowed upon him (none are) and as a consequence, he labored night and day lest some of that grace be wasted. God's grace l never fails, but we can fail to appropriate it which can lead to a destructive a root of bitterness. Paul urges us to put away "all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling, and slander along with any form of malice” (Eph. 4:31).
