We Are God's Fellow Workers

"So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. For we are fellow workers; you are God's field; you are God's building. According to the grace of God which was given me. 1 Cor.3:7, 8, 9a; NKJ

When God dramatically increases the fruit from our planting and watering in our field of service, it is so natural to begin thinking we are the reason for the growth of a bountiful harvest. We are important, but only to the extent of being the clay vessel and conduit through whom He does His work. When I left a growing ministry some 57 years ago, I thought it would be severely hindered or never be the same without me. Guess what? That ministry flourished under the leadership of my successor. It's all of grace, both the calling and the strength needed to serve in His vineyard. There is no stronger bond created than when we as fellow workers cooperate in the great cause of the gospel.
