Worship The Creator

"And take heed, lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship and serve them." Duet. 4:19a NKJ

The Bible teaches that "The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork" (Ps. 19:1 NKJ). The imprint of God's power is indelibly inscribed on every feature of God's creation, most noticeably on the sun, moon, and stars. Polytheism (the worship of multiple gods) was the norm in ancient times. Israelites worshipped the one true God, but under the influence of pagan nations they also resorted to idol worship. What God has created is to be admired and put us in awe of Him, but the thing or things created are never to be an object of worship. Martin Luther said that "The human heart is an idol factory." Anything we love, cherish, and respond to more than God could be idolatry.
